ABOUT
As a qualified teacher with over 14 years of teaching experience in primary education, I am passionate about helping children to reach their full potential. During my career, as well as working full-time in the classroom, I have also taught specialist interventions on a group and individual basis to help pupils develop their Literacy skills. I’m a qualified SENCO and Specialist Teacher Assessor which means that I can carry out full diagnostic assessments of Dyslexia.
I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in SpLD (Dyslexia) and am an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association. I also hold a valid APC (Assessment Practising Certificate) as an assurance that my knowledge and skills are up-to-date and have a full DBS (Disclosure and Barring Services) check in place.
SERVICES
I offer a range of services including individual tuition in reading and writing, advisory services to parents and schools, as well as diagnostic assessments of Dyslexia for pupils up to the age of 16. All assessments and tuition can be carried out at the pupils' home for convenience and ease. Virtual tuition services are also available. I work within the Hull and East Yorkshire area, including Bridlington, Beverley, Driffield and Scarborough but may be able to travel further afield if required.
TUITION
I offer a range of tuition services including individual tuition in reading and writing and specialist tuition for pupils with Dyslexia. Tuition programmes are tailored to each pupils' individual needs and will use multi-sensory teaching strategies to support learning. DYSLEXIA ASSESSMENTS
A full diagnostic assessment can be a useful way to identify an individuals strengths and difficulties, and will include recommendations for support which takes these into consideration. The assessment process can take up to 3 hours to complete and breaks will be incorporated to ensure that the process is as comfortable as possible. In addition to this, all assessments can be carried out in the pupil's own home for maximum ease and comfort.
